Limonada de Coco Cocktail #2 — The Coconut Blossom Spritz

A sparkling, floral, coconut-forward spritz that looks like sunshine in a glass.

If the Island Kiss was our quiet, coconut-forward whisper, the Coconut Blossom Spritz is its sparkling, sunlit sister. This one's built for brunch tables, garden parties, and the kind of afternoon where everyone's dressed a little too nicely for daytime drinking — in the best way.

It's the second cocktail in our Limonada de Coco series, and where the first one leaned soft and tropical, this one leans bright and celebratory. Bubbles do that.

Why We Made This Second

After building a drink that let coconut sit quietly in the background, we wanted to try something different: let the coconut actually lead. Elderflower does something interesting here — instead of competing with coconut for attention, it lifts it. It adds a floral lightness that makes the whole drink feel elegant rather than heavy, and lets the Limonada de Coco flavor come through clearly instead of getting buried under juice and syrup.

White grape juice softens things further, and the bubbles on top turn it from "cocktail" into "occasion."

The Recipe

Ingredients

  • 60mL Limonada de Coco
  • 60mL white grape juice
  • 20mL elderflower cordial
  • Top with prosecco or soda
  • Ice
  • Garnish: edible flower

Method

Build in a wine glass over ice. Stir gently — just enough to combine, no need to bruise anything. Top with bubbles (prosecco for a proper spritz, soda for an alcohol-free version). Add a pretty floral garnish and let it do its job before anyone even takes a sip.

Why It Works

  • Elderflower lifts the coconut with floral elegance, rather than fighting it for space.
  • White grape juice adds softness, rounding out the sharper edges of the cordial.
  • Bubbles make it celebratory — this is a drink that announces itself.
  • No competing coconut — just your liqueur shining through, clean and clear.

A Few Notes From the Bar

  • Build, don't shake. This one's about preserving the bubbles, so everything goes straight into the glass over ice — no shaker involved.
  • Prosecco vs. soda: prosecco gives you a true spritz with a bit of dryness to balance the sweetness; soda keeps it light and food-friendly for daytime brunch service.
  • Garnish matters more here than usual. A single edible flower (pansy, viola, or nasturtium all work beautifully) turns this from "drink" into "centerpiece" — don't skip it.
  • Wine glass, not a rocks glass. The wider bowl lets the bubbles and aroma open up, and it just looks the part.

The Verdict

This is your brunch-menu showstopper — the kind of drink people ask about before they even taste it. Sparkling, floral, and unmistakably coconut, it's proof that Limonada de Coco doesn't need to hide behind anything to shine.
