 Second Serve: The “Citrus Ritual Fizz”

If the Cloudy Burn Spritz was your golden hour go-to, this one’s your midday spark — bright, zesty, and built for spontaneous rituals. The Citrus Ritual Fizz is a highball-style cocktail that blends Hot Shots Original with fresh citrus and a fizzy finish. It’s easy to make, hard to forget, and perfect for backyard hangs, rooftop parties, or your next Hot Shots event.

The Citrus Ritual Fizz

Ingredients:

• 45ml Hot Shots Original

• 20ml fresh orange juice

• 10ml lime juice

• 10ml simple syrup (or honey syrup for extra depth)

• Top with soda water or blood orange soda

• Ice + orange wheel or edible flower garnish

Ritual: Before pouring the soda, tap the glass three times with your stirring spoon. Say the name of the last person who made you laugh. Pour slowly, watch the fizz rise, and sip while standing — never sitting — to keep the energy flowing.

This cocktail was born from a citrus grove memory in Queensland — the kind of place where the air smells like oranges and the sun never apologizes. I wanted something that felt like a spark in a bottle. The fizz is the ignition. The ritual is the flame.
